Mobile Internet Service

This page provides information about Qué Tal Mobile, LLC’s (“Qué Tal Móvil”) Broadband Internet Services (referred to hereinafter as “Mobile Internet Services”). “Mobile Internet Services” are services that provide the capability to transmit data to and receive data from all or substantially all Internet endpoints using wireless networks, including technologies such as 4G LTE and 5G. The network practices, performance characteristics, and commercial terms described here apply to Qué tal Móvil customers who use Mobile Internet Services over wireless networks made available to Qué tal Móvil by one or more third-party suppliers of internet data (“Network Suppliers”). This page does not describe the practices, characteristics, or commercial terms that may apply when roaming.

What terms and conditions apply to Qué tal Móvil’s Mobile Internet Service?

The provision of the Qué tal Móvil Mobile Internet Service is subject to the Qué tal Móvil Terms and Conditions at https://quetalmovil.com/terms-and-conditions/ These Terms and Conditions are subject to change, so you should review them frequently, including when you activate service.

What data plans does Qué tal Móvil offer? Will my data be slowed on these plans?

Currently, Qué tal Móvil offers Mobile Internet Service for compatible phones and tablets over our Network Supplier’s 4G LTE and 5G broadband networks. Access to 5G and/or 4G LTE requires a capable device, a compatible SIM card, and use within an appropriate coverage area. Your actual availability, speed, and coverage may vary.

Qué tal Móvil may offer unlimited data plans in the future. If such plans are offered, the term “unlimited” data refers to unlimited overall data usage, not unlimited data at the highest speed possible. Unlimited plans may include a high-speed data threshold, after which data speeds may be reduced for the remainder of the billing cycle or deprioritized during times of network congestion.

Certain data-intensive activities, including but not limited to online gaming, file downloads/uploads, and video streaming, may be limited or inaccessible after high-speed data is reduced. Additionally, for all service plans, Qué tal Móvil’s Network Suppliers may reduce speeds during times of network congestion, in accordance with their policies. Video streams may also be reduced or limited to 480p resolution.

Data is for personal use within the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, except where international roaming is offered, which is subject to change.

What speeds and performance can Qué tal Móvil customers expect from their Mobile Internet Services?

Speed

The term “speed” is commonly used as a shorthand to describe the rate at which a particular Mobile Internet Service transmits data. This rate is typically measured in kilobits or megabits per second (Kbps or Mbps). Some applications, such as email or basic web browsing, do not require high speeds to function well, while activities like high-definition video streaming or transferring large files perform better with higher data speeds.

Latency

Latency, also known as delay, is the amount of time it takes for a data packet to travel from its source to its destination and back. For Mobile Internet Services, latency is usually expressed as the round-trip time in milliseconds (“ms”). Applications such as email can tolerate higher latency without a noticeable impact, while applications like real-time video conferencing require lower latency to work properly.

Based on our Network Suppliers’ published network management policy disclosures, and subject to various factors described above and below, Qué tal Móvil customers using recent broadband-capable devices with qualifying service can generally expect the following typical speed and latency ranges on the 5G and/or 4G LTE networks. Access to 5G and/or 4G LTE requires a capable device, a compatible SIM card, and use within an appropriate coverage area. Your actual availability, speed, and coverage may vary:

5G Network

  • Download Speeds: Typically between 53 – 304 Mbps
  • Upload Speeds: Typically between 3 – 22 Mbps
  • Latency: Typically between 3 – 22 ms\

4G LTE Network

  • Download Speeds: Typically between 12 – 78 Mbps
  • Upload Speeds: Typically between 1 – 12 Mbps
  • Latency: Typically between 1 – 12 ms

Other Network Management Practices

  • Blocking. Except for our network management practices disclosed in this policy, in our Terms and Conditions, or in our Privacy Policy, as applicable, we do not block or otherwise prevent end user access to lawful content, applications, services, or non-harmful devices.
  • Throttling. Except for our network management practices disclosed in this policy, in our Terms and Conditions, or in our Privacy Policy, as applicable, we do not degrade or impair access to lawful Internet traffic on the basis of content, application, service, user, or use of a non-harmful device. Please refer to the policies described in our Terms and Conditions for more information.
  • Prioritization. We do not engage in practices that directly or indirectly favor some traffic over other traffic, including through the use of techniques such as traffic shaping, prioritization, or resource reservation. Notwithstanding the foregoing, our Network Supplier may implement certain practices from time to time that may result in the deprioritization of some users.
  • Congestion Management.  We or our Network Supplier may reduce speeds during times of network congestion. For additional information, please see our Terms and Conditions.
  • Application-Specific Behavior.  Except for our network management practices disclosed in this policy, in our Terms and Conditions, or in our Privacy Policy, as applicable, we do not discriminate against lawful applications that are compatible with our services. We do not block or rate-control specific protocols or protocol ports, modify protocol fields in ways not prescribed by the protocol standard, or otherwise inhibit or favor certain applications or classes of applications.
  • Device Attachment Rules.  You must use a supported, compatible device to access the Qué tal Móvil network. Only certain phones and tablets are supported devices. Modems, gateways, automated relay devices, and any other devices used for commercial or re-direction purposes are not supported devices and violate our policy. Failure to use a supported, compatible device when accessing our network will result in immediate termination of your service.
  • Security. Qué tal Móvil takes the security of its network very seriously. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions (including our Privacy Policy) for a list of precautions we may take to ensure security.
